In science we are learning about Air & Aerodynamics. Today we focused on one of the properties of air: Air Takes Up Space. The students were placed in groups of 5 to conduct an experiement. Basically, they had to create a seal between their beakers and their funnels. The group that can keep water in the funnel the longest wins the contest…and proves that air takes up space (in the beaker). Below are a few pictures showing what we were working on.

Hey its Callie. I had lots of fun!! It got frustrated at times though.
Too bad our group did not get the seal we were hoping for. I still can not belive that we took up our whole recess doing that.
It was fun in till ours started to drip we had it for a little bit but the water started to come out so we tried again and again and still didn’t get it but o well it was fun. 😉
That was a really fun experiement! I can’t wait to do some more experiements. This is going to be a very fun year and Mr. Rankin is an awesome teacher!
