Constable Zens was an excellent teacher of the DARE program this year. The students really enjoyed his sense of humour. He touched on a number of important topics throughout the ten week program. The students learned about the harmful effects of smoking, drinking and illegal drug use. As well they gained insight into how to handle peer pressure and where to turn to if they need to seek the advice of a trusted adult. Reflecting on DARE, the students were asked to write an essay to depict their understanding of the program. Within the essay was a pledge to stay drug free and to lead a healthy life style. The students in Rankin’s Ultimate Underdogs’ class wish to thank Constable Zens for being their DARE teacher and for putting on an excellent graduation ceremony.
