Our class was treated to a wonderful video conference on Thursday, November 8. Major Kelly Callens, Armour Officer (Tank) from Lord Strathcona’s Horse, and Major Adam Kaine, Pilot from Tactical Helicopter Squadron presented to six different classes throughout Alberta. Both gentelmen are active members of the Canadian Military, and have served in Afghanistan, Germany, Angola, Mozambique and Bosnia. Mjr. Callens and Mjr. Kaine shared some of their inspirations, motivations, and experiences in defence of Canada and of Canadian interests at home and abroad. They also shared some photographs from their tours. Both men were very open to answering student questions; our class got to ask four questions during this interactive event.
